Kia ora
Ive been a keen knitter ever since my Mum taught me when I was 3. (I’m not going to reveal how many years ago that was!!) I love to knit lace, cables and colour work. Consequently, I have gone through fads of knitting arans, shawls, blankets, hats, baby knitting for the family and friends, and garments for others. My present fad has been knitting traditional fair isle beanies with wool from the Shetland Isles.
Last year and this year I entered examples of my fair isle knitting into the Inangahua A&P show and was fortunate enough to be awarded the People’s Choice in 2025 and this year I received the judges award for Best Overall Handcraft.
I have a huge stash of wool some of which is several generations old and some of which is surplus hand spun wool from my mother and grandmother. If I live to be 120 years old I imagine the stash will not be exhausted!!
Thank you for supporting me In my craft i hope you enjoy it. Shar
