Sewing Machine Repairs
We are delighted to work closely with Owen Gould, who brings more than 40 years of expertise in sewing machine and overlocker repairs. Owen is known for his skill, care, and ability to work with any brand or model; both domestic and industrial.
Just bring your machine into Pins & Needles, 70 Mackay Street, Greymouth, and we’ll take care of getting it to Owen. After he has had a look, he’ll give you a call to chat through what’s needed — including any helpful upgrades or tweaks he recommends.
Once your machine is serviced, it will be returned to us here at Pins & Needles, ready for you to pick up.
Clothing Alterations
We love working with our talented local seamstresses who are fantastic at all types of clothing alterations. From hemming trousers to reattaching buttons or making personalised adjustments, they bring skill and care to every garment.
Just bring your item and your contact details into Pins & Needles, and we’ll make sure it gets to the right sewist. They’ll give you a call with a quote and an estimated return date, and once it’s finished, your garment will be ready to collect from our store.

Bespoke Hand Knitted Garments
At Pins & Needles, we’re lucky to work with a wonderful group of highly skilled knitters and crocheters who create beautiful handmade garments and blankets. Many of our makers bring over 50 years of experience, and it truly shows in the quality and care woven into every piece.
If you’re interested in having a bespoke item made, simply pop into the shop to chat with us about what you’re looking for. We have specialists in baby and children’s wear, cosy blankets, and custom adult garments. The process is collaborative from start to finish — from taking measurements to choosing your wool, colours, and buttons.
We’ll talk through options, timeframes, and pricing with you in store. A deposit is required to begin your project, and we offer flexible payment options to make the process easy.
